Inspiration exists, but…

“Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.” ~Pablo Picasso

Inspiration exists when we are truly ready to work—to show up and put in the effort. The moment we begin to take action, even a small one, momentum is created. And within that momentum, inspiration appears. It shows up when we begin, not when we wait.

Often, we look around and see people excelling in different fields. Their achievements inspire us, yet we wonder why we aren’t able to do the same. Many times, the answer is simple: we are not putting in the effort consistently. There is nothing inherently “too tough”—only trained and untrained. Strength, skill, and mastery are not gifts reserved for a few; they are outcomes of practice. We cannot sit on the sidelines hoping to become strong. We have to step onto the floor and train ourselves in whatever field we wish to grow in. When we start, inspiration begins to flow.

And yet, motivation itself depends on what we are aiming for. When our ideals are small, unclear, or not meaningful enough, the mind doesn’t feel inspired to commit. The work feels heavy because the purpose feels shallow. But when we embrace higher, loftier ideals—goals that uplift us, expand us, and align us with something noble—effort becomes easier to sustain.

Inspiration is real. But it is not meant to be waited for. It is meant to be met through effort, through training, and through the willingness to begin.

Pause for Reflection: What is one small action I can take today to create momentum?
